Things You Need to Know about Legoland Malaysia

I believe some of you already know about the new Legoland Theme Park which is located at Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Since the name is Legoland, then all the park is using lego as the main attraction. 

Legoland Main Entrance

This park actually started operating sometimes around September last year (2012), so it is still very new. Located in the Nusa Jaya Area, it is around half hour driving from the centre of JB. Not too far actually, but the area seems just very new and open only for this purpose. On the left side of the Legoland Main Entrance, they are still constructing the Legoland Hotel and Waterpark. As the plan, it will only be open on 2014.

Since the park is still very new, I have some tips before coming to this place :

Ticket
The ticket price to enter this place is reasonable for me :
Adult : RM 140
Child and Senior : RM 110
But buying the ticket on line is a lot way cheaper rather than buying it directly at the gate. If we already knew the exact date to come, then better buy on line. It will only cost us RM 112 for adult and RM 88 for child and senior. And also do not forget to check the discount voucher. Some products may sell the discount voucher. Last time I get 35% discount voucher buy buying RM4 Mamie's product.

Umbrella, Sunglasses, and Hat
Throw away your jacket, use the very comfortable clothes and also do not forget to bring, umbrella, sunglasses and hat. This park is way too hot! Johor it self is already a hot temperature city, and then with this new open park, the trees are still not enough to block the sun go straight away to your head, there are also no building comes to surround this area. So just prepare yourself to drink lots of water.

Backup Clothes
Bring along your backup clothes. Not because you will play with water and get wet, but mostly because the weather. After enjoy playing in this park, my husband brought my son to take a bath and change his entire clothes. Me and my husband also do that thing, changed our entire clothes.

I can give 4 stars to this place because the place is very clean, the restaurant sell food with taste with reasonable price, the supporting area also complete. They built a nice Surau, Baby Care Room and Toilet.

I even can put the ***** (5 stars) to the baby care room. Not only because of the place is cold hehe :p but, inside the room we can found 2 big toilets for changing place. The play area, huge pantry with all the equipment might be needed, and then a baby cot and of course the nursery room. 

They have two person in charge inside this place. One for taking care of the tidiness of this place and the other one responsible for the door. Because some of the man, might not reading the sign that they are not allowed to enter this place. 



The park is very child friendly. Some parks may let kid to come inside the park and then got nothing to do. But Legoland is different, it is actually built for the child. The games and the ride can actually be used by child with age 3 and above. So it is worth to pay the ticket. My son got very happy with the games here. He really enjoyed the whole day, even though it is so hot that day.

Then the last thing is for the souvenirs shop. Usually I always be a fan of souvenir shop inside a theme park. But not for this one. They mainly only sell Lego in this place. They did sell some other thing, but not that interesting. Even the fridge magnet does not work on me :p 

So I think that's all for the Legoland trip from me. Hope every one who wants to go to this place get a better idea :) Do not forget to check to the Legoland Calender, because they will close several time in a year, and of course do not forget to check my other story about other theme park.

Malaysia Science Centre

Few weeks ago, Saturday morning we are planning to walk to the park, just as usual. Wearing our walking-to-park outfit, me, my husband and my son, of course, planning to go to the Titi Wangsa Park. That day was just sooo hot, and we already late for the morning walk. Suddenly the idea appears, we totally change our destination. Instead of going to the park, we visit the Malaysian Science Centre or in Bahasa Melayu they call it Pusat Sains Negara.

This place is located at Persiaran Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. It is nearby Royal Selangor Club Bukit Kiara. If your coming from Damansara Area, just follow the LebuhRaya Sprint and take the exit toward Persiaran Bukit Kiara, the place will be on your right.

Arrived in this place, we found out that they are having the StarTrek Exhibition. Actually we are not the fan of it, but we do want to see what's inside the exhibition. We can feel the ambience of the StarTrek start from the door.

The fee to enter the Science Centre is only RM 6 per person, but if you want to enter  the StarTrek Exhibition it is RM 20 per person. The Science Centre it self is not too big, and not too complete also if we compare to Singapore Science Centre. 

Entered the main door, we will find the big Aquarium with many kind of fishes. My son is just so happy to see the fishes flying above him. Go through inside we can find lots of scientific tools, but presented in an attractive way.  I would not mention each of the gallery, you can find in this link. Please don't be too excited by looking to the web, because from what I found the picture at the web is way too good compare to the original look. Hehe.. I think ya..most of the website is like that of course. It is worth seeing though, but maybe one time is enough for me.

This are several pictures taken from the site.. Ohya..we are allowed to take pictures inside the science centre but not at the StarTrek Exhibition area. Food and Drinks is not allowed right after entering the main door of the science centre. But don't worry they have a cafe inside the place.

KL City Tour

After staying a while in KL, we decided to have a KL City Tour by our own hehe :)

We picked up the place that tourist will visits, so that we also feel as tourists. Started the tourby visiting the famous "Batu Cave" place. What do we do here? My son play with the pigeons and we took pictures as the prove that we've been to this place.

Batu Cave is located at the Gombak District. Only 13km north from Kuala Lumpur and only around 17km from my house, Damansara. So it was not time consuming at all to come to this place.  

In this place actually there are not so much to do if you are not willing to take the stairs. But if you're that eager to go up, than you can get the Dark Cave Tour. From what I heard, in this tour you will find the bats, muds, and of course experiencing the cave itself. Since we are not prepare for the muddy session and bring along together my son won't be good for us also, so we decided not to go up and take the tour.

Next stop is the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It is located right in front of the Dataran Merdeka at Jalan Raja Kuala Lumpur. We find this place when we pass through every time we wants to go back from KLCC. The buildings in this area is very nice, old style but looks like been taken care a lot by the government. I don't have a good picture to share it with you, because it is difficult to take picture that time while there are so many car parks in that area. The next stop should be the Ampang Lookout Point, from here we can see KLCC and KL Tower and whole KL itself. But seems like something happened there, that place closed for some reason. Lately I read that the place was shutted down because of illegal operations. They do not submit the proper documentation, and might caused incidents. So, we went down and go back home.

So this is how we made ourself not to feel bored all along the weekend, by act like we are not the residence. :) 

Islamic Art Museum

There is a place that I always recommend my relatives to take a visit in KL, the place called Islamic Art Museum. Located in Jalan Lembah Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, Islamic Art Museum, is also within a walking distance from National Mosque, Planetarium, KL Bird Park and Al Hijrah TV Station.

I checked the website before we went to this place. The website was very informative, we can see clearly what we are going to find in the place. This is also one thing that I love about this country, the government site, the private site very well prepared. The website itself represent the place, even though sometimes it looks way too good compared to the original place, but it attracts people to visit.

Ok, come back to museum. When we reached this place, the place is very quite and looks like nobody is here to visit. I start to worried, is this place that one of kind that only good in website. Haha, but it's ok since we've already here. 

The entrance fee is just cheap, 

• Adult : RM 12
• Students : RM 6
• Senior Citizens : RM 6
• Child : under 6 is free

In this place almost all the wall, even the elevator wall was designed with the Islamic Art Museum Logo. Which is nice :) So, we went up using elevator. Stop at the 1st floor, and wow!! I'm amazed with the first thing I saw that time. This 1st section contains of the famous Mosque from around the world in the mini size. It was a beauty!

I don't took all the Mosque photo, because it's hard to take it since all of it covered with the glass box. Also, I forgot to take note the mosque's name.. Hahaha..

After that, I found the Qur'an manuscript section. Of course the museum also have the Qur'an Miniature :) Very cute..

Then the next section is more about the Islamic Cultural History, also jewellery, textile, ceramic, coin, and metalwork from Islamic area in several Islamic Country. I also remember that, this museum somehow manage to have one of the original the Ka'Bah door cover. Very huge one..

Not only the showroom, this museum also got the restaurant and the museum shop. Haha..next pit stop is the museum shop. Spend almost an hour in this shop, for me, wherever museum I went to, I need to buy the signature of the place. And this museum shop is awesome, things that they sell here was using the good materials, like the book, the bookmarks, cup, calligraphy, even the t-shirt design also good. My husband bought the Kiblah compass and a T-Shirt, my son bought T-shirt and I like usual, bought the bookmark and pin.
We do not try the restaurant that time, so I can not give the food review.

Malacca Visit

This is my belated visit to Malacca, a very short visit one. Malacca is located in the southern region of the Malay

Peninsula, it took about 2 hours driving from Kuala Lumpur. 

Our trip that time was on January 2012, this is my big family short vacation. As I said it was my big family vacation, so it involves my parents, my brothers and my future sister in law. That was a sudden visit, so I was not prepared like usual. Usually I would checked all the best place to visits and have that places on my list. But that time, we only manage 3 hours to go around Malacca City, before dark. 

So there's not much that I can tell, we only visit the Christ Church, Dutch Square, and tried the "Venice of The East" cruising the Malacca River.

KL - Singapore (December 2011)

This is our very first time vacation after this moving thing. We decided to go to Singapore. It's very easy to find the transportation when you want to go to Singapore from KL. There're lots of ways. At that time, we want to try something new, so we decided to take the Bus. It took about 4-5 hours, and you can choose what kind of bus do you want to, start from the very cheap one up to the executive double deck bus. 

Actually near from the place we live (Bandar Utama), there're also several buses, with lots of schedules also. But, since it's December and weekend, we couldn't get the seats using that buses. Here are the buses that can ride you to Singapore from Bandar Utama, they come from different company, rate and also services. You can choose either one that suit you :

• First Coach cost you around RM 50-78 for adult and half of that price for child
• Aeroline this one might cost a little bit higher, but you'll feel that you're in the airplane by using this bus. They got a stewardess to serve you, they serve proper meal, a good entertainment and a very comfortable seat. We tried this bus on our way back from Singapore to KL, my son loves this bus so much.. Hehehe..
• FiveStar, so sorry I can find the exact link, but some of my friends told me that this bus also good.

Ok, since we need the bus to go to Singapore at that day, we search for other bus station, and we found Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). TBS is a very nice bus station I'ved ever seen. The place is huge, we can find many lockets to buy the ticket, to all destination in Malaysia and Singapore. It looks like an airport, so after bought the ticket, checked in, we waited for the bus to come in the gate stated at the ticket. The bus station well air-contioned, clean, proper and in place direction and information. Don't have any idea where I can find this kind of bus station in Jakarta :)

As I mentioned before, lots of way to reach Singapore from KL. Other than using bus, you can also use airplane, almost all of the airplane company will have their schedule to Singapore in daily basis. Or you can use train, only using train take you almost 8 hours to arrived, so it will be good if you choose to travel at night and arrived in the morning.
